Human Aid UK calls for the lifting of the blockade on Gaza and an end to the attacks by Israel on its civilian population.

Human Aid UK condemns the brutal and unrelenting violence against the Palestinian people.
We are appalled to see the level of violence being perpetrated on the Palestinian people despite widespread condemnations from across the world. The barrage of attacks on Gaza are indiscriminate and have resulted in the loss of civilian lives including that of children.
Nur Choudhury, Chair of Human Aid UK, and also a survivor of the attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla (Mavi Marmara, 2010) said:
"The start of this current aggression was due to the illegal Israeli settlements and the land grab in Sheikh Jarrah, which is rooted in a racist and discriminatory policy. Then additionally the brutal assault upon Masjid Al-Aqsa, violating its sanctity and indiscriminately attacking worshippers in the holiest of months on the most blessed night of Laylatul Qadr. The mosque is the third holiest site in Islam and its desecration has caused offence to billions of Muslims across the world.
The only solution to ending the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza that has led to Gaza being described as “the world's largest open-air prison” is for the attacks to stop and the blockade to be lifted. Israel must be held to account by the international community for maintaining an illegal blockade, continually attacking civilians in Gaza and for facilitating the expansion of illegal settlements.
Human Aid UK has been working in Gaza to alleviate the suffering that was caused by Israel's Operation Cast Lead at the time. Our solidarity with the suffering people of Gaza continues in their efforts to secure the most basic of human rights."
Since its inception in 2010, Human Aid UK has been working in Gaza providing life-saving projects such as clean drinking water, essential foods, and medical support. Human Aid UK has been supporting the Al-Shifa Hospital, which is the main hospital in Gaza, by providing ambulances, medical equipment and also staffing the hospital with doctors and nurses.
